May 9, 2022 "Baptism"
Hey Guys! OK, I'm going to try to do my best to write a really good email.
We moved a LOT of people this week. It was a lot of fun but sometimes stressful because the people we were moving were very stressed.
A family in our ward let us try fresh unpasteurized milk straight from the cow. And it's absolutely delicious. I might be in love. They gave us a gallon of milk.
Mother's day was a blast too!
Also, the highlight was Sonora's baptism. Sonora was someone that we've been teaching for awhile. She's incredibly sweet and has one of the most earnest desires to know the truth of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. We've spent several weeks and months helping to answer her questions and focus her attention on Jesus Christ and His restored gospel.
She was doing everything right- studying, praying, keeping the commandments, and having a genuine desire but for the longest time she didn't believe in the Book of mormon or modern prophets. It was a bit of a test for me because I felt like there was something missing that she or we had done or not done because for the longest time, her questions were not answered.
But we kept returning to Moroni 10:3-5 and James 1:5 and 3 Nephi 14 which all say that Jesus Christ gives answers to earnest seekers. We kept praying and fasting and exercising faith.
And the one day about three weeks ago, Sonora told us that she had received a quiet simple answer and that she believed.
There are some moments in your life that you can't forget, moments engraved in your heart and soul. Seconds that define who you are. I don't think I'll ever be able to forget Sonora and the influence she has had on me.
I've found that everything spiritual works on the principle of exercising faith.
