August 16, Bellevue
I'm sorry guys. This is the first time I've been able to sit down and write out a good email. First, I want to apologize to everyone who sent me an email that I haven't responded to yet. I will most definitely probably do that somewhat soon....
As far as this week, it was fairly eventful. The elders cleaned out the house of a child murderer and so they got a ton of free stuff including a guitar.
I hit six months on my mission!
Last week, when Sister Pace and I left to go to a lesson, our district decided that for every zero a companionship got this week (new people found, nonmembers at church, people on date to be baptized), they would have to eat an egg. Unfortunately, this companionship got straight zeroes. Which meant, as you might be able to assume, that we had to eat an egg. Raw. So freshly cracked that you could have put it in a harness and called it an oxen.
I am proud to say that I was able to swallow said egg, but barely. (It was absolutely disgusting).
We had a lesson right after and Sister Pace and I spent the whole time trying not to throw up on the poor member that we were teaching.
As far as miracles, we received this referral for a woman. She was super excited to meet with us. We set up a time to meet with her, and when we called her the morning of to make sure that the lesson was still going to happen, she answered and then hung up on us. We called her back and it went straight to voicemail. A little confused, we texted her. She didn't answer.
Well, it came time for this lesson and we knew that it was in a locked gate apartment so we weren't exactly sure what to do. Sister Pace turns to me and asks if we should go. I felt like we should so we drove over and rang for her apartment number.
No one answered the ring. A woman walked through the doors and we tried to go through with her, but she told us to wait for someone to ring us in. Basically, it felt like everything was against us going to this lesson. But I remembered that we had a former investigator in the building. We called her, she let us in, and we were able to meet with the woman after all. (I guess she's just really bad with technology?)
Also, one of our members called us up. He had a racoon in one of his traps and he wanted to know if we wanted it. So he shot it and we took it over to the Elder's apartments and they helped me to skin and gut it. (It's currently in my crockpot right now and if anyone knows how to tan hide, I would greatly appreciate it).
Anyways, God is in the cracks of everything. I love you guys. Remember, there's nothing you could do that would make Jesus Christ or I love you any less.
Love,
