March 1, 2021 Arrival in Omaha

Hey! I arrived. They didn't have free wifi at the airport, so I'm sorry I wasn't able to email you guys until now. My first area is the Grand Islands ward in Nebraska. My companion is a sister who speaks Portuguese and was reassigned to Omaha. I meet her tomorrow.
We just barely got done with going over the rules of our mission. They are pretty strict. Our main goal is to baptism people. The only things we can read are the things found in the Quad (especially the BoM), the general conference talks of living prophets (he said we could perhaps read some of the older ones), preach my gospel, and church handbooks. Theres apparently two to three conpanionships per ward in this mission, which is a crazy number. Because of that, we do almost entirely facebooking to meet people who are interested in the gospel.
And P-days are for preparing only? So they said things like contact sports and games aren't allowed... The rules seem very strict, but I'm trying to have a good attitude about it.
The other missionaries seem really nice and the missionary couple dedicated to missionary health had a couple of ideas about my rash. They gave me a tube of hydrocortisone cream and told me to call them to set up an appointment with a dermatologist if I didn't see results in about three days.
Sister Higgins and I are staying the night in a hotel room together. And fun fact: apparently chili and cinnamon rolls TOGETHER is a Nebraska favorite and staple? And there IS a Nebraska accent. I don't really recognize all the nuances but there's a little bit of a drawl? The term 'Y'all' is a real thing here too!
I get to email you gain next Monday...

Love you guys!

Sister Brice
