May 15, 2021 "The Sisters Get Another Stalker"

Hey guys! We had zone p-day which was a lot of fun but totally did not give me time to write my email. But I have a list of some of the weird things that make Nebraska weird. 

 - black squirrels
- pickle sticks (you buy pickles at games, as a side at restaurants, etc. Everyone loves pickles and will eat them plain)
- no fences???? (Very few houses have fenced in yards
- chili on cinnamon rolls
- fried chicken!!!
- water drainage systems
- double door (door with door screen) for literally every house
- lawn ornaments of life sized animals???
- no sprinklers, unless you're rich
- Everyone says God Bless You
- say Warsh without any other accent (Warshing machine, take out the warsh) 
- you 'scoop' snow and 'shovel' dog poop
- lots of bird varieties, especially songbirds
- Cane's, Casey's, Runza, & Fizoli are all super popular restaurants
- no soda shops
- scooters instead of Starbucks
- Huskers football and women's volleyball
- sitting on porches
- literally cannot do concrete. To save their lives
- flat rock roofs???
- Cannot drive long distances. At all. If grandparents live an hour away, they only see them a couple times a year
- wiggle finger wave
- does not pick up roadkill. Literally no road service
- no mailboxes, just mail slots built right into the house
- hyvee and super saver are the big stores. Walmart is NOT popular
- billboards are EVERYWHERE 
- lots and lots of bunnies
- no lines to stop at intersections
- lots of horizontal lights
- braless? (Most women just do not wear a bra...)
- people don't really wave. In Idaho, everyone waves to each other. No one waves in Nebraska, but when they do, it's just a finger wave thing
- up high porches
- literally no one wears eyeliner but they LOVE colored eye shadow
- almost everyone smokes
- shortening. I've never used it before my mission and here everyone uses soooooo much of it
- loose dogs. 
- so many chihuahuas. So many...
- the most gorgeous sunsets and sunrises you'll ever see in your life
- everyone here prays/believes in God. They just don't do anything else.
- Bible basher are a thing
- SOOOOOO green. Grass grows everywhere, like a weed


Anyways, love you all! Thank you for your prayers and support. I pray for all of you.

Remember, there's nothing you could do (or nothing that could happen to you) that would make God or Jesus Chrisr love you any less.

  Hey everyone! Sorry it's been awhile. I moved into the Fontanelle apartments of North Omaha and it's been a wild ride. To catch you up: we moved into an area that hadn't had some success for awhile. Historically their relationship with missionaries, especially sisters, has been the worst in the mission. To top it off, we got bedbugs and I found out I was allergic to them just in time to be introduced to an apostle of the Lord. This week our apartments AC and washing machine broke so we've been living in front of our box fan and not touching the oven unless it's absolutely necessary. It's permanently about 84 degrees in our apartment right now. We had some crazy stories happen. One of the older sisters in our ward called us bawling and told us that her husband had cheated on her. We drove right over and for the next three hours tried to coordinate between the Relief Society and this dear Sister who was really struggling and comfort her because she had no one el...

May 9, 2022 "Baptism"

  Hey Guys! OK, I'm going to try to do my best to write a really good email.  We moved a LOT of people this week. It was a lot of fun but sometimes stressful because the people we were moving were very stressed.  A family in our ward let us try fresh unpasteurized milk straight from the cow. And it's absolutely delicious. I might be in love. They gave us a gallon of milk. Mother's day was a blast too!  Also, the highlight was Sonora's baptism. Sonora was someone that we've been teaching for awhile. She's incredibly sweet and has one of the most earnest desires to know the truth of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. We've spent several weeks and months helping to answer her questions and focus her attention on Jesus Christ and His restored gospel.  She was doing everything right- studying, praying, keeping the commandments, and having a genuine desire but for the longest time she didn't believe in the Book of mormon or modern prophets. May 2, 2022 "At A Hindu Temple"

  Hey guys! We had a pretty wild week. Transfers hit and Sister Waite was sent to Nebraska City. Sister Gessel (my new comp) and I have been getting along really well. We have been able to do a lot of service this week AND we presented a lecture on our church at a Hindu temple.
